Panoramic Sanctuary

The client, an elderly man in his 90’s requested a renovation of his back courtyard - a space that provides a panoramic view from his living room, a location in which he would spend most the last of his days before passing the property on to his grandchildren.

The brief was to design a sanctuary view that took inspiration from Melbourne’s Eastern rain-forests while still maintaining some aspects of St Kilda’s indigenous coastal plant communities.
